Find out how to become a Reserve Deputy Sheriff or how to join the Sheriff's Citizens Patrol.
Reserve Deputy Sheriffs
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Reserve program is composed of volunteer law enforcement officers who supplement the paid deputy positions throughout the Sheriff’s Office. A Reserve Deputy Sheriff is a sworn officer with the same authority and responsibilities of any paid deputy, including completing the same mandatory training each year. The primary function of the Reserves program is to assist in manpower when and where needed throughout the agency and at special events. Reserve Deputies must volunteer for 36 hours every quarter (an average of 12 hours per month) to retain their Reserve Deputy status.
